- The UVU Spirit Squad is comprised of the UVU Wolverine Dancers, Cheerleaders, and the Wolverine Mascot. The UVU Spirit Squad performs at all home women’s volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball, as well as numerous other public appearances. The goal of the UVU Spirit Squad is to promote school spirit by entertaining audiences and encouraging crowd involvement, as while representing UVU on a national level at competition. Hello everyone!
As the new Historian of the Utah Valley Dance Team at UVU, I have decided to continue the blogging process that was created last year. I am looking forward to another successful year of dance while promoting school spirit and encouraging student involvement. Our 09-10 team will be equally amazing as last year, and I know all of us will become better dancers and closer friends because of it!
The UVU Spirit Squad (Cheer and Dance) had the privelage of going to the NDA/NCA Camp down in Las Vegas at UNLV July 28-30. Cheer did an amazing job and recieved a megaphone trophy for Best Spirit in their category. Way to go, cheerleaders! You guys are amazing and we love getting to travel with you guys!
The UVU Dance Team competed and tied for a third place bid with Weber State University for a partial paid bid to Nationals in Daytona Beach, FL upcoming in April of 2010. The UVU Dance Team also received a blue ribbon (top marks) in evaluations, along with the Spirit Stick the first day of camp. Brigham Young University, Hawaii Pacific University Dance Team, University of Wyoming and Southern Utah University were also there. Congratulations to all of the teams who participated!
